artMOB Second Annual Scarecrow Contest Results
Since the beginning, artMOB has always been a little...shall we say, different. From our name, to our projects, artMOB likes to bring a twist.
Inspired by committee member Jeff Davis, of Milwaukie's famous Halloween display the committee loved the idea of having an annual scarecrow contest. Scarecrow contests have been more traditional on the east coast but artMOB thought it was time to bring it west!
The entries for the second annual artMob Scarecrow Contest range from the sick to the silly, with everything from a Princess Leia and her famous buns to a ghoulish surgical skeleton! Join us to congratulate the winners and maybe you'll get a few ideas of your own for next year...

City Hall Sculpture Garden Has a New Hue
The City Hall Sculpture Garden is getting a colorful refresh this September. artMOB selected the theme "Dazzle Me with Color" to bring some joie de vivre to the garden and the three new works will bring that in spades.
"Jump," by Francisco Salgado, is a large abstract yellow figure stretching towards the sky and inspired by the artist’s son jumping and playing. Jenell Wedding proposed "Everlasting Bouquet," which she is currently making.
The piece will be a giant pot of colorful flowers and a great way to enjoy the flowers of the northwest all year round. "The Story of Robin Hood," by Jesse Swickard is a tall turquoise shield which symbolizes family and honor.
The Sculpture Garden has six pedestals for displaying a rotating collection-half are new every year. All the pieces are on loan and are for sale.
A celebration will be held during the October First Friday Art a la Carte on October 7th at 5:00pm at City Hall-10722 SE Main St. Milwaukie, Or. 97222
