Beth Ragel-City Staff Liaison to the Arts Committee
I graduated with my Master's Degree in Urban Planning and Community Development from Portland State University in 2005 and started working for the City of Milwaukie in the Community Services Department in June of 2005. My primary role with the City is working with the neighborhood associations and doing public outreach on major projects. I also help coordinate City events such as the Milwaukie Umbrella Parade and Tree Lighting, our annual clean up event, and the Milwaukie Daze festival. I am also the staff liaison the Milwaukie Arts Committee-deemed "artMOB". I volunteer as a Lunch Buddy at Milwaukie Elementary School and am a member of the Milwaukie Rotary Club.
I enjoy working in Milwaukie for its small-town feel and sense of history. I interact regularly with community members. I love the variety in my job and all the wonderful volunteers I get to work with regularly. The amount of work volunteers accomplish in this town is truly amazing and inspiring. I particularly love working with artMOB for their creativity, vision, sense of humor, and passion for making Milwaukie a better place.
