Hello everyone, my name is Roger Hodge II, and I am 'The Cribbage Maan'....no, that's not a typo...I am 'The Cribbage Maan', and Maker of Fine Game Boards and Plaques here in Milwaukie, Oregon where I have lived for 33 of my 34 years! My parents are both very talented artists themselves, and they have taught me what I know now, and have encouraged me over the years to stick with drawing and creating! 9 Years ago I learned how to play Cribbage, and 4 Years Ago, I started making Custom Cribbage Boards for Family and Friends. At the time of writing this, I am taking a break from completing #60 which will be on its way to a Home in Colorado Next Week! What started out as just a couple of boards as gifts, has become a passion of mine, to combine the Game of Cribbage, with the Telling of an Individual or Family's Story...just ask me to tell you about a board or two, and I can explain why I drew and woodburned what I did...and who I did it for! No lasers here...just my art (twice) and time!
The greatest feeling is delivering a custom made heirloom to people, and seeing them looking at the completed board for the first time...and if time permits, playing a game or two on the new board with the new owner! Cribbage is not the only game I have been asked to make for people, and I look forward to all the other people I meet down the road, and hearing their ideas and interests to incorporate onto a Board or Plaque...and then adding my own interpretation and touch to the final product! No two Boards will ever be alike...and that's just fine with me!
