I'm excited about being part of the artMob committee. Milwaukie is emerging into an interesting community and some day I think it will be a destination community. I think we can help do this through art as other areas in the region have. For example, the Lake Oswego Art Fair has grown from one tent to several tents with several locations and their "Gallery without Walls" now offers tours of the more than fifty sculptures located throughout their downtown. In Portland, Alberta's last Thursday has helped infuse the area with restaurants, art galleries and many new businesses.
Milwaukie has been very successful with the poetry series which makes me believe the citizens of Milwaukie will support additional forms of art in Milwaukie.
I'm excited by the progress artMob has already made and look forward to helping execute their mission for the community.
